The medication used in anti-wrinkle injections is botulinum toxin, commonly known as botox, which works by blocking nerve signals to chosen muscles so that they do not contract. Therefore there is less movement in that chosen area and the appearance of lines is reduced.
Results may be seen after three days and will reach the peak effect two weeks after treatment. The effects of the treatment will last from three to six months depending on the individual.
